A Los Angeles murder suspect was arrested after police kicked in the door of his room at the Desert View Motel in Yucca Valley early Monday morning. 46-year-old Michael Kane, who teaches at a Tarzana elementary school, was being sought after allegedly chasing down and stabbing his estranged wife to death on a San Fernando Valley street Saturday morning. Kane had a relative living in the Morongo Basin and after an alert was sent out, local deputies located his vehicle Sunday abandoned in the Yucca Valley Community Center Parking lot. Following an intensive search by local Sheriffs working with Los Angeles police, Kane was located and taken into custody. He was treated at Hi-Desert Medical Center for injuries he may have received during the stabbing, then taken to Topanga and booked for murder at the downtown LA County men’s jail.
