A Los Angeles man was arrested in Yucca Valley Friday (October 1) for attempted murder. Last Friday, shortly after midnight, Sheriff deputies responded to the 58500 block of Barron Drive in Yucca Valley for a report of gunshots. Arriving deputies located two suspects leaving the scene and attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle when the vehicle led deputies on a pursuit. After the pursuit, the two suspects bailed on foot, which is when deputies detained Francisco Guzman, 21, of Los Angeles. After some investigation, deputies determined that Guzman, along with another unidentified suspect, had driven by a residence and opened fire with an unserialized handgun. Francisco Guzman was arrested for suspicion of attempted murder and booked at the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $1,000,000.
