LOOK FOR METEOR SHOWERS STARTING TONIGHT

Meteor showers peak tomorrow, assignment reporter Sara Snyder has more…
Star gazers will have a treat in store as the Geminid meteor showers make their appearance again, starting now through December 17. The Geminid meteor shower will peak Sunday, December 13, into the early morning hours of Monday, December 14, and again Monday night into early Tuesday morning, December 15. The shower that appears to emanate from the constellation Gemini—which is above and to the left of Orion—could deliver up to 120 shooting stars per hour about 2 a.m. They are some of the brightest meteors you’ll see all year long, and viewing conditions are expected to be almost ideal, with a waxing crescent moon that sets in the early evening. Reporting for Z107.7, this is Sara Snyder.
