LONGTIME LOCAL VOLUNTEER DAVE SKILINSKI HAS PASSED AWAY

Dave Skilinski, a 45-year-resident of Twentynine Palms, died Christmas Day. He was 67 years old. Dave Skilinski, also known as “Ski,” is survived by three daughters: Janet Skilinski of Twentynine Palms; Cindy Weaver of Yucca Valley; and Jennie Ellison of Idaho; son Gary Weaver of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Dave Skilinski was a long-time volunteer for the San Bernardino County Citizens’ Patrol. He started his career as a Marine from 1970 to 1978; he retired from Burrtec after 20 years of service. He also volunteered for the Twentynine Palms Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department and Search and Rescue. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 18, at a time to be announced at the Twentynine Palms Elks Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the San Bernardino County Citizen’s Patrol.
