May is motorcycle safety awareness month. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department, Town of Yucca Valley, and the City of Twentynine Palms will conduct traffic safety operations throughout the month.
To ensure the safety of motorcyclist, they ask drivers to always check mirrors for blind spots before changing lanes, and keep a safe distance when following a motorcycle.
Motorcyclist should wear sturdy clothing, and a DOT-compliant helmet with eye protection. Remember to keep your lights on, and always ride defensively. Never assume a driver can see you.
