Five candidates are vying for three seats in both the Yucca Valley Town Council and Twentynine Palms City Council elections this November. Running in Yucca Valley are Jim Schooler and Edmund Shadman in District 1; incumbent Merl Abel is being opposed by Jo Ann Bollen in District 3; and incumbent Rick Denison is running unopposed in District 5. In Twentynine Palms, incumbent Daniel Mintz is running unopposed in District 3; Karmolette O’Gilvie is running against incumbent John Cole in District 4; and in District 5, incumbent MacArthur Wright is facing former council member Cora Heiser.
