After a year-long application and review process, J. Ray Kennedy was selected last July to be one of 14 members of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission. The Morongo Valley resident is now part of a team that is tasked with drawing new district lines for the U.S. House of Representatives, State Senate, State Assembly, and State Board of Equalization districts this year.
Kennedy, an electoral adviser, has worked for the United Nations and other electoral-assistance providers for nearly three decades. He has begun working with fellow commission members to set policies and develop plans for the task ahead. Kennedy is also the commission’s community outreach leader in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
