LOCAL METEOROLOGIST TALKS ABOUT EL NINO

With California still in drought conditions, experts are hoping something called El Nino will bring a wet winter. ROP Broadcast student Alyssa Brown spoke with Morongo Basin Meteorologist Ray Yeager about the phenomenon…
Most people hear about El Nino but have no idea what it is. Local meteorologist Ray Yeager says El Nino is a climatic change resulting in an unusual warming of the Pacific Ocean. Yeager says the Morongo Basin is 100 miles away from the coast, so El Nino will only cause a little rain. Yeager also says El Nino will not relieve the drought; however, it is particularly strong this year.
Reporting for Z1077 news, I am ROP broadcasting student Alyssa Brown.
