In high school sports today, cross-basin rivals Yucca Valley High School and Twentynine Palms High School will play each other in basketball and soccer. The Morongo Basin Rotary Clubs are initiating a new “Battle of the Ball” in basketball. The basketball games will be played at the Bell Center on the Copper Mountain College campus. The girls’ junior varsity games starts at 3 p.m.; boys’ JV at 4:30. Tip-off for girls’ varsity is at 6 p.m. and for boys at 7:30 p.m. Adults are $5, kids are $3, and students with ASB card are free.
For soccer, the boys will be playing in Yucca Valley and the girls will be playing in Twentynine Palms. Both games start at 5 p.m.
