The 4th annual Yucca Valley Film Festival was held this weekend (November 11-13), and several local filmmakers were awarded prizes for their work. The documentary film, “Inside The Beauty Bubble,” about Joshua Tree’s iconic salon, took home with the prestigious Yucca Valley Award. Kassy Mahea, a filmmaker living in Joshua Tree, won an award for “best dance film.” Genea Gaudet won the “Keep Mojave Free” Award with her music video “Wasteland.”
Other winning work was made by filmmakers from Arizona, South Africa, France and the UK. The Yucca Valley High School Cheers performed live, the Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan Basketball team walked the red carpet, and several awards were presented by Miss Yucca Valley and the Miss Yucca Valley Court.
