On Saturday afternoon, September 19, the Morongo Basin Conservation will sponsor three talks on the subject “Water in Dry Times.” Keynote speaker Peter Brooks takes as his topic “The Future of Water: Understanding the World’s Most Precious Resource.” A joint talk by Jill Giegerich and Tim DeLorey, “What Difference Can Each Water-user Make?” focuses on local water conservation through wise landscape planning, emphasizing the integration of hardscape elements and water retention techniques. Finally, Deborah Bollinger will present an overview of how water audits are conducted and share current landscape elements that save water. This event runs from 12:30 to 3:30 pm in the Yucca Valley Community Center. A $5 donation is requested.
