At its regular meeting Saturday, the Democrats of the Morongo Basin approved a resolution declaring the Morongo Basin as a “hate-free zone.” In the resolution, the organization recognizes that the Morongo Basin has a diverse population, but it says, there have been a growing number of incidents of racial, ethnic, sexual or other hostility. The resolution urges Morongo Basin residents to treat one another decently and with civility and to keep any hatreds, fears of other people, or animosity in their homes.
