Local Animal Rescues collecting emergency supplies for snowed-in mountain towns

Local animal rescues are working to provide emergency supplies to residents of Lake Arrowhead and Crestline areas who have been impacted by record snowfall in San Bernardino County.

Hooks Home Bound Rescue and Joey’s Home Animal Rescue are collecting supplies in station wagons parked outside of the Walmart and Tractor Supply in Yucca Valley.

The station wagons will be accepting donations today (March 14) and tomorrow (March 15) between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., with supplies being taken up to the communities in need on Thursday (March 16).

Items needed include flat head and snow shovels, jackets, gloves, non-perishable and canned food, bedding, fire wood, rope, hay, dog, cat, rabbit, and bird food and cat litter, and more.
