A Landers man was shot in the leg when his cocked and loaded pistol fell off a shelf. According to a Sheriff’s report, John Todd, of the 5200 block of Dusty Mile Road, was moving a shelf inside his home about 1:45 p.m. Sunday when the .44 Magnum fell off and discharged, striking Todd in his left calf. Todd laid on the floor and wrapped his leg in a towel while waiting for help to arrive. Todd told paramedics that he had stored the gun with the hammer cocked back.
