The classic sci-fi musical “Little Shop of Horrors” continues its run at Theatre 29 this weekend. With more information about this musical is Rebecca Havely…
“Little Shop of Horrors” is set in a little failing flower shop in New York City where a mutant, flesh-eating plant is discovered. Directed by Gary Daigneault with musical direction by Scott Clinkscales and choreography by Lisa Goldberg. the cast includes veteran favorites as well as talented newcomers to the Theatre 29 stage.
The man-eating plant named, “Audrey Two” is a huge star in this production. Charles Harvey’s rich, soulful vocals give the puppet gritty character. Cody Joseph acts as puppeteer and is a masterful manipulator bringing every leaf to life. Laura Berry, new to Theatre 29, delightfully portrays Audry. Aidan Bosworth plays the undervalued shop clerk with a youthful, honest wonder. The sadistic Dentist is played by Christopher Schoonover and flower shop owner Mr. Mushnik is played by Theatre 29 veteran Dennis “Easy” Boos.
Tickets are $10 to $15. The show will run weekends through October 27, with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturdays, and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. For reservations, visit theatre29.org or call 760-361-4151.
