LITERARY MAGAZINES TAKES DESERT TOUR

Copper Mountain College’s student-run literary magazine launches their 2022 edition with a series of live events across the high desert. Reporter Jef Harmatz has a rundown of the schedule.

HOWL is an annual magazine featuring and edited by the students of Copper Mountain College, and this year’s issue will take a tour of the high desert that will include readings, music and fun. The tour begins Wednesday (April 13) at 6 p.m. at GRND SQRL, 73471 Twentynine Palms Hwy, in Twentynine Palms. The next stop for the tour is The Palms, 83131 Amboy Rd, in Wonder Valley for Sunday Brunch on April 17 at 11 a.m. This reading will feature the music of Bill and Bob. The tour continues at Space Cowboy, 61871 29 Palms Highway, in Joshua Tree on April 23 with featured musicians Paul Gerkin and Bill and Bob.

The HOWL tour will next stop at the Giant Rock Meeting Room, 141 Old Woman Springs Rd, in Flamingo Heights on April 30, at 6 p.m. and will feature The Fizz Fuzz and Randy Smith. The final stop will be May 13 at the Copper Mountain College amphitheater, 6162 Rotary Way, in Joshua Tree with music by Harry Taylor and catered by the CMC Culinary Department. For more information call Copper Mountain College at 760 366 3791.
