The County Board of Supervisors selected 13 applicants as finalists for possible appointment to the vacant Third District seat yesterday. They will be interviewed during a special Board meeting at 9 a.m. today. They include two local candidates, Jim Bagley of Twentynine Palms and Dawn Rowe of Yucca Valley. Rounding out the list is Tobin Brinker, Ronald Dailey, R. Carey Davis, William Emmerson, Sean M. Flynn, Julie Hackbarth-McIntyre, Dennis L. Hansberger, William E. Jahn, Janice Leja, Chris Mann, and Rhodes L. Rigsby. The seat became vacant when Supervisor James Ramos took the oath as a member of the state Assembly. The County Charter requires the board to appoint someone within 30 days; after that, the governor is required to make an appointment. Today’s meeting will be held on the first floor of the County Government Center in San Bernardino. Morongo Basin residents can view and participate in the meeting via interactive video at the Joshua Tree Government Center.
