Morongo Basin high school seniors are invited to apply for scholarships from the Lincoln Club of the Morongo Basin. Students must have a 3.0 or better grade point average to apply. Applications must include an essay on which amendment the student feels is the most important in the Bill of Rights and why. The deadline to enter is April 3. The prizes will be $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place. Winners will also get the opportunity to present their essays at the annual meeting of the Lincoln Club.
The essay questions is “ What is the most important amendment in the original ten amendments of our Bill of Rights, and Why?”.
The essay should be between 500 and 700 words. The completed essay, with a cover letter, proof of grades, and all contact information should be sent to:
