LEGACY BRICKS STILL AVAILABLE AT THEATRE 29

Theatre 29 continues to work on their Serenity Patio east of the theater building on Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms. The patio area includes a stunning giant sculpture, reminiscent of the iconic Comedy and Drama masks, a seating area, and a wall partially full of legacy bricks. Theater-goers are enjoying the peaceful seating area before, after, and during intermission of productions at the theater.

The sculpture was donated by world-renowned artist Simi Dabah; it is lit during the night on a large concrete pedestal just north of a decorative wall which is being gradually tiled with legacy bricks. These bricks—custom engraved for the donor—can be sponsored by volunteers, community members, and businesses who wish to leave a mark on this community treasure. Next time you are at Theatre 29, check out the display of tiles already on display, some in remembrance of a loved one, others marking a business’s support of Theatre 29, others honoring directors and performers, marking remarkable productions, and some tiles with whimsical messages just for fun.

There are two sizes, 4×8 for an $85 donation, or 8×8 for $150. The funds raised through the legacy brick project will be used to support ongoing improvements to the patio and the Theater 29 facility at 73637 Sullivan Road in the City of Twentynine Palms. Theatre 29 invites you to “Be a Part of the Arts!” Those interested in participating can reserve a brick by calling Theatre 29 board member and fundraising chair Cindy Daigneault at 760-366-8471. Bricks can also be ordered in the Box Office prior to performances.
