LECTURE ON THE REAL AND THE IMAGINED AMERICAN WEST SATURDAY

Writer and photographer Shirley Tipping has spent more than a decade studying the complex relationship between the real and imagined American West as depicted by the Hollywood film industry. This Saturday, April 13, Tipping, who holds a degree in fine art photography will show photographs and discuss her ongoing project starting at 2:30 p.m. at the Morongo Basin Historical Society Museum and Research Center on Landers Lane in Landers. Pioneertown and other well-known Western film set locations figure prominently in Tipping’s presentation. Seating is limited; a $5 donation is requested.
