Archaeologist Jeremy Freeman will present the Morongo Basin Historical Society’s second Wednesday lecture May 9 about conserving rock art. The lecture, titled “A Race Against Time: Documenting the Conservation Needs of Rock Art Sites in Joshua Tree National Park” will discuss how rock art sites are affected by a variety of natural and human-caused factors that lead to their deterioration. To learn about a management plan to help conserve these resources, join the Historical Society at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9. Admission is $5.
