Bill and Elizabeth Campbell were original homesteaders in Twentynine Palms who made extensive contributions to the area’s local history. The Morongo Basin Historical Society will host a presentation about them and their marriage by author Joan S. Schneider during its monthly lecture series at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 13. Schneider will sign copies of her book, “The Campbells of Twentynine Palms,” following the lecture. Admission is $5. The nature museum is located at 57116-29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
