The Twentynine Palms Historical Society continues its second Friday lecture series with a lecture Friday, March 9. Reporter Eric Knabe has the details…
Join Michael Ables, the executive director of the Patton Museum, in an exciting lecture on “General Patton in the Mojave Desert.” In January 1942, Major General George S. Patton, Jr. established the Desert Training Center in the Mojave Desert for the purpose of training men and machines for action under the harsh conditions of the African deserts. The March 9 lecture is open to the public and costs $5 per person at the door of the Old Schoolhouse Museum, at 6760 National Park Drive, in Twentynine Palms. Doors open at 6:15 and seating is limited, so arrive early. No standees permitted.
