The restoration of a 1928 Chevrolet bus promises to bring back the colorful stories and history of the Morongo Basin’s first public transportation service—the Twentynine Palms Stage and Express. The Morongo Basin Historical Society is sponsoring a lecture on the Hastie Bus at its Second Wednesday Program, tomorrow, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum. Come and hear the goal of the Twentynine Palms Hastie Bus Restoration Project. The Twentynine Palms Historical Society will have photos, stories, and information about their plans to preserve this historic precursor to our current Morongo Basin Transit Authority. Admission to the lecture is $5.
