LEARN ABOUT REMOTE AND MISUNDERSTOOD CALIFORNIA DESERT LANDS

A very unique opportunity to discover some of the most remote and misunderstood lands in the California, under a spectacular full moon, is being offered n by the Mojave Desert Land trust, Reporter Mike Lipsitz tells how take part in the journey……
California’s desert communities will celebrate the National Park Service Centennial and highlight the region’s protected public lands with free events throughout October and November. The weekend of October 15th and 16th is marked with a full moon overnight camping trip; it’s a community celebration of the newly designated Mojave National Preserve and Castle Mountains National Monument. Mojave Desert Land Trust hosts this tour of significant cultural and biological treasures within both protected lands. Experience significant cultural and biological treasures and on this journey to some of the newest, most remote, and perhaps least understood National Park Service lands in the California Desert. Attendees will learn about the monuments and Mojave Desert Land Trust’s role in achieving their protection, Visit a Native American cultural site, and enjoy a full moon interpretive program and hike at the base of the Castle Mountains.
