LEARN ABOUT EDIBLE PLANTS AT THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE TOMORROW

An edible plants expert will talk about the plants used by the native people of southern California for food, medicine, and utilitarian purposes during Friday’s Second Friday Lecture at the Twentynine Palms Old Schoolhouse. Daniel McCarthy will discuss vegetation habitat and distribution, while focusing on the key species found in the Mojave and Colorado Deserts. The 7 p.m. lecture is sponsored by the Twentynine Palms Historical Society. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door. An optional dinner with the speaker starts at 5 p.m. at the 29 Palms Inn.
