The public is invited to the second in a series of three summer reading programs for adults at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, when Marjorie Franklin will present “Adventures in Digital Technology.”
Marjorie Franklin has a dual background in art and digital technology. She has programmed computers for the Apollo Project and established electronic art programs at Northern Illinois University and the University of Minnesota. Franklin will give a brief history of digital technology and then a longer presentation on present-day technology from Internet browsers to the dark web, the Internet of things to 3D printing, and challenges to the future of digital technology. The programs are a part of the Gear Up and Read summer reading program 2017, which is ongoing through July 29. For more information please call the Joshua Tree Library at 760-366-8615.
