People have long been fascinated by desert birds of prey. Now the Friends of Wonder Valley offer a chance to learn more about these powerful creatures, their habits, and why they make terrible pets. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has more…
Raptors of the Desert is an overview of desert birds of prey by graduate biologist and licensed migratory bird rehabilitator Susan Doggett. Several of these creatures will accompany Doggett at her presentation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, at the Wonder Valley Community Center, on Amboy Road, in Wonder Valley. Subtitled “Conservation and Ecology of California Birds of Prey,” she will also address noises in the night, and why owls are known as silent killers, and other little-known facts. Children attend free; a $2 donation per adult is requested, but no one will be turned away. More information is at http://www.WonderValley.org.
