LAW ENFORCEMENT IN THE NATIONAL PARK

In the 800,000 acres of Joshua Tree National Park, sometimes people need help, and sometimes laws get broken.  Ranger Pam Tripp says the Park has a law enforcement arm to deal with this…

With 1.4 million visitors coming to Joshua Tree National Park, there are bound to be searches, rescues, accidents, and sometimes, law breakers.  To help during these times and ensure the safety of everyone in the park, we have the law enforcement branch, a group of dedicated rangers that work to ensure that others can enjoy the park and feel secure. With the help of reports from visitors and employees as well as patrols through the park, regulations such as no dogs or bikes on trail, not stopping or parking in the roadways, and obeying campground rules are enforced for the protection of everyone. As our law enforcement rangers remain busy, all of us can help them ensure the safety of ourselves and others by preparing well for a visit to the park. We wish to thank our law enforcement branch for protecting and serving the visitors and employees, and in turn protecting our resource that is Joshua Tree National Park.

For Z107.7, this is park ranger Pam Tripp, encouraging you to get to know how your national park works.
