Today, May 6, is the last day Yucca Valley property owners may request a replacement ballot for the assessment district vote for the Hi-Desert Water District. All ballots must be returned to the water district by Wednesday, May 13, in order to be counted. A public hearing will be held at the water district offices at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at which time the board of directors will hear comments on the assessment district. Immediately following the public hearing, an independent, outside agency will count the ballots in front of the public.
