LAST CHANCE TO HELP WITH 2022 POINT-IN-TIME HOMELESS COUNT

In just a few days, the annual census of homeless people, known as the Point-in-Time Count, will take place in communities throughout the United States, and volunteers are desperately needed. Claire Grow tells us what it’s all about and how you can help…

The 2022 Point-in-Time Count takes place from Thursday, February 24. The results will be used in a variety of ways, including to help determine where county funds and other resources will be allocated. Locally, the count is conducted by volunteers in every community in the Morongo Basin. Working in pairs or small groups, volunteers will visit locations where homeless people live and spend time in order to count individuals, conduct brief surveys and distribute convenience items and other essentials. For more information or to volunteer yourself or your organization to help organize the count in your community call 909-386-8231 or go to sbcounty.gov/sbchp.
