LARGE SCALE COMBINED EXERCISE ABOARD TWENTYNINE PALMS MARINE BASE

East end Morongo Basin residents will be hearing “The Sound of Freedom” this weekend. The Marine Corps’ will be conducting a large-scale combined arms, live-fire exercise on board the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center. The 1st Marine Division, along with support from the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, 1stMarine Logistics Group, and I MEF Headquarters Group are participating in Exercise Steel Knight through Monday, December 14. The exercise allows the Marines to practice and hone their war-fighting skills. Residents may hear more noise from the base than usual.
