A Landers woman who has an extensive history of petty crime was arrested Sunday, accused of felony conspiracy. Sheriff’s deputies say that Carolyn Buckner and a friend went to the Yucca Valley Walmart about 8 p.m. Sunday. Store personnel saw Buckner concealing items inside her clothing. When she tried to check out, employees tried to stall her until deputies arrived; they also confronted Buckner about the stolen items, but she refused to return the merchandise. When the deputy arrived, a probation compliance check of Buckner and her vehicle found the stolen merchandise and methamphetamine in plain sight inside the car. Carolyn Buckner was arrested for investigation of conspiracy, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $25,000.
