A Landers woman was arrested Tuesday (August 31) accused of assault with a deadly weapon after cutting her boyfriend with a knife. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies were called to the 56600 block of Handley Road in Landers for a report of a domestic dispute. The victim told deputies that he and Sonia Santiago, 38, had gotten into a verbal confrontation when Santiago began hitting him. Santiago then bit the victim, pulled out a knife, and cut the victim during the altercation. Deputies contacted Santiago at the location. Sonia Santiago was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with her bail set at $50,000.
