LANDERS SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED FOR PAROLE VIOLATION

A convicted sex offender was arrested Sunday morning after he refused to allow a deputy to search his home under terms of his parole agreement. About 11 Sunday morning, a deputy went to the home of Larry Leard, 63, in the 58300 block of Judy Lane in Landers to ensure that Leard was following the terms of his parole. A Sheriff’s report states that Leard refused to allow the deputy into his home for the search, as required by law. After Leard was detained, the report states the deputy discovered a 20-gauge shotgun shell, marijuana, and alcohol, all items in violation of his parole agreement. Larry Leard was arrested on a no-bail warrant and for violating the terms of his parole. Leard is being held at the West Valley Detention Center.
