LANDERS PARENTS PLEAD GUILTY IN DEATH OF SON LAST YEAR

A Landers couple pleaded guilty in court yesterday to causing the death of their young son due to heat stroke. Paul Warfox, 43, had taken his son out in to the desert in 100-plus degree temperatures in July 2018 to collect firewood. On the way back to the home where the family was squatting, his 7-year-old son Dylin, collapsed. Warfox carried him home and the family took a six-hour nap. When they woke up, Dylin was worse and the family called for an ambulance, but Dylin died on the way to the hospital. Paul Warfox and his wife Misty Warfox, 37, both pleaded guilty Thursday to child endangerment causing death. Paul Warfox and Misty Warfox will be sentenced October 28.
