A Landers man was arrested early Monday morning, after he was found with drugs and a loaded rifle. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a red Ford pick-up truck for having a burned out headlight just before 1 a.m. on Old Woman Springs Road and El Cortez in Yucca Valley. During a records check of the driver, Jeremy Vanderhyde, 40, the deputy determined that Vanderhyde had $150,000 in outstanding warrants for his arrest. During a search of Vanderhyde, the deputy found a small baggie of drugs consistent with methamphetamine. Inside the truck was a loaded .22 rifle. Jeremy Vanderhyde was arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
