A Landers man with a $250,000 warrant was arrested Saturday evening following a routine traffic stop in Yucca Valley. According to the Sheriff’s Department, a deputy on patrol stopped a blue Ford with expired registration tags near Aberdeen and Avalon Avenues about 6:30 p.m. The deputy states that the driver, John Killen, 50, was putting something behind the car’s radio. The deputy found a black zip-up pouch hidden in a space behind the radio; inside the pouch were drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and several hard, crystal-like rocks. A records check found that Killen was wanted on a $250,000 warrant for grand theft. John Killen was arrested on his warrant, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $250,000.
