LANDERS MAN ARRESTED AFTER BRANDISHING A KNIFE

A Landers man was arrested Sunday afternoon, accused of brandishing a knife during an argument. Police say Gerald Hunter, 32, went to an apartment in the 6200 block of Valley View Street in Joshua Tree about 12:20 Sunday afternoon and began arguing with a woman and threatening her. The woman’s husband came out and told Hunter to leave and followed him out. Hunter is alleged to have taken out a knife and swung it at the man twice before leaving. Gerald Hunter was arrested for investigation of brandishing a weapon and assault. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $100,000.
