LANDERS MAN ARRESTED AFTER THREATENING WITH A SWORD

A Landers man was arrested Friday after a deputy saw him chasing another person with a sword. About 2 p.m., deputies were called to a house near the intersection of Venus Street and Border Avenue in Landers because Elon Miller, 49, was threatening his mother and another person with a sword and threatening to kill them. Miller allegedly swung the sword and chopped the porch with it, and then chased the two victims down the road, where he was seen by the deputy. Elon Miller was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
