A Landers man was arrested early Wednesday, accused of attempting to stab his girlfriend and set her on fire. According to a Sheriff’s report, Michael Moles, 31, began arguing with his girlfriend in the 700 block of Becker Road in Landers about 2 a.m. because he wanted her to drive him
somewhere and she refused. Moles started flailing his arms, and one arm hit the woman in the face. Moles then kicked the woman in the face. When the woman got in her car to drive away, the report states Moles jumped into the car through the passenger side window. As the woman drove to a friend’s house, Moles allegedly poured lighter fluid on her, threatened to burn her, and also threatened to stab her with an ice pick. The woman told deputies that when she arrived at her friend’s house, Moles pushed her to the ground. Deputies found a lighter on Moles. Michael Moles was arrested
for investigation of felony spouse abuse with his bail set at $50,000, and for violating the terms of his post-release community supervision. Moles was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held without bail.
