A Landers man was arrested Saturday, accused of stealing a car. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 600 block of Inca Trail in Landers about 10:18 a.m. Saturday for a report of a stolen Volkswagen Baja Bug. About 2 p.m. Saturday, Deputy Natthaniel Campos saw the stolen VW being driven in the area of Onaga Trail and Barberry Avenue in Yucca Valley. Campos conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle, which was driven by Raymond, Linley, 22, and took him into custody without incident. The VW had been partially disassembled and components were missing from it. A search warrant was served on a house in the 56200 block of Lum Lane in Landers where the missing vehicle components were found. Raymond Lindley was arrested for investigation of vehicle theft and being in possession of a stolen vehicle, as well as violation of probation, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail.
