A Landers man was arrested Wednesday, accused of spouse abuse and violating a restraining order. Deputies were called to the 700 block of Jemez Trail in Landers about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night because a woman said Steve Martin, 47, had violated a restraining order. Deputies advised Martin to leave the area. About 12 hours later, the woman said Martin returned, and assaulted her, causing her face to bleed. Deputies located Steve Martin and arrested him for investigation of spouse abuse with a prior conviction, violating a protective order, violating the terms of his probation, and on warrants for making criminal threats. Steve Martin was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $75,000.
