LANDERS MAN ACCUSED OF ILLEGAL MARIJUANA SALES

A Landers man was arrested late Saturday night, accused of possessing marijuana for sales. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a red Toyota Celica about 10:30 p.m. near Border Avenue and Golden in Joshua Tree for a traffic violation. The driver, Michael Ott, 57, admitted he did not have a driver’s license, and when the deputy searched the car, several vials of marijuana were found, along with scales and cash. Ott allegedly admitted to buying the marijuana locally and selling it to customers in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms. Michael Ott was arrested for investigation of possession of marijuana for sales, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
