A Landers man was arrested Saturday, accused getting physical while stealing a woman’s phone. Deputies were called to the 6400 block of Indio Avenue in Yucca Valley about 3:30 a.m. because Michael Harper, 37, had come to the home and started arguing with the occupants. The residents said that Harper stole a cell phone from a woman and then fled, possibly toward his home in Landers. Deputies located Michael Harper, and he was arrested for investigation of spouse abuse and burglary, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
