LANDERS MAN ACCUSED OF BURGLARIZING JOSHUA TREE RETREAT CENTER

A Landers man was arrested early Friday morning, accused of burglarizing the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. The alarm company notified the Sheriff’s
Department about 5:20 a.m. Friday that the burglar alarm at the Retreat Center’s book store was going off. Deputies discovered the store’s window
had been smashed and the front door was open. While deputies were tracking the suspect, other arriving deputies saw a man, later identified as Anthony Grigley, 61, walking along the highway away from the center. Deputies determined the shoe prints at the scene of the burglary matched
Grigley’s shoes, and he was arrested for investigation of burglary, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $25,000.
