Landers Homestead Valley Association’s charitable organization registration has been reinstated

The California State Department of Justice has reinstated the Landers Homestead Valley Association’s Charitable Organization registration as per July 2nd 2025. President Mike Lipsitz reported that the Association will be on probation for three years, due to their multiple years of non-compliance.

Sergeant Jacob Naylor of the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station reported that Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman allegedly overdosed at his home in Landers. Fortunately Allman recovered. According to the Sergeant, overdose cases are being treated as homicides and drug dealers are being prosecuted.

Third district County Supervisor Dawn Rowe’s field representative Glen Harris reported that a big clean up is happening in Lucerne Valley at the Market and Hardware store on August 2nd, which will be open to all unincorporated areas in the district.

JoMarie McKenzie President of the Bighorn Desert View Water Agency’s Board of Directors reported that a special meeting will be held on Wednesday July 16th at 6pm, in order to select a new Board member. Applicants will be interviewed, a selection process will be completed and the candidate who receives three or more votes will be sworn in and appointed to the Board of Directors.
