Landers resident and flea market organizer Judith Laffoon never imagined the success of the monthly Flea By Night event when she came upon the idea as a way to extend the life of Landers’ popular first Saturday flea market during the hot summer. Reporter Mike Lipsitz brings us this story on the season finale of what has become a popular nighttime flea market, tailgate party, and live music event…
This Saturday, October 5, is this year’s last nighttime first Saturday Flea Market in Landers. More than just a flea market, the nocturnal event is billed as a night of fun, music, food, and community from 4 to 9 p.m. at Homestead Valley Park on Belfield Boulevard with access from Reche or Linn roads in Landers. Parking is free. Organizers are calling it the perfect nightcap after a day of art tours, orchid festival, gem & mineral show, and the Bizarre Bazaar. Vendors new and old, live music, food, and open mic opportunities promise there will never be a dull moment this Saturday. Landers first Saturday flea market returns to morning and early afternoon hours starting in November. For more information, call Judy at 760-364-2931.
