Last night’s fundraiser at Landers Elementary School was a win, win, win event. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has details…
It was one for the record books at last night’s Auction Extravaganza at Landers Elementary School. More than 150 supporters turned out for dinner, drawings, and to bid on goods and services donated by local boosters and businesses from as far away as San Diego. Parents, neighbors, and members of the school board vied for concert and adventure park tickets, haircuts, health foods, and haute cuisine. “It seemed like no one walked away empty handed,” said the parent of a sixth grader. At the end of the evening organizers tallied up $3,850, a record for the district’s smallest elementary school. The proceeds will go toward field trips, sixth grade science camp, family activity programs, and student assemblies.
