A Landers couple was arrested Thursday morning after their son died of possible heat stroke. According to authorities, Morongo Basin Ambulance paramedics were called to a home in the 7800 block of Boone Road about 6 p.m. for a sick child. The boy, Dylan Biscamp, 7, was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for possible heat stroke and was pronounced deceased upon arrival. Due to suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, Sheriff’s homicide detectives were called in to investigate.
Detectives interviewed Dylan’s mother, Misty Biscamp, 36, and her husband, Paul Warfox, 42, about their involvement in the case. After the interview, Misty Biscamp and Paul Warfox were arrested Thursday morning for investigation of willful harm or injury to a child resulting in death. They were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $100,000 each.
In 2017, Misty Biscamp pleaded guilty to inhuman corporal punishment of a child. On April 22, 2016, Biscamp was arguing with her step-son, and when he called her a name, she slapped him in the face. The boy fell to the ground and was knocked out. Biscamp tried to pick him up, and dropped him–three times–on to his face. The boy had injuries and swelling to his eye, jaw, and face, and said he did not remember the incident. Misty Biscamp was required to complete a child abuse prevention program and sentenced to three years probation.
